Two meanings of "events"[]
I see that most of what's in this category is about events in a game, presumably needing some coding to decide what results from the happening.
Minor hiccup occurs in the fact that Wikia has recently developed a standard procedure for placing an "Upcoming events" calendar on any Wikia page and adding items to it very easily. See w:Help:Calendar. Those event-items become pages in the Wikia and go automatically into the category "Events" (and may be manually added to any other category - for some Wikia such as "Psychology", that could be something like "Conferences in Europe").
You may find a use for an "Upcoming events" calendar. If you do, it would be marginally preferable to maintain the automatic standard features (because newcomers to the site from other Wikia, familiar with the standard, could be more productive using the standard). That would call for creating another category for game events - "Category:Game events", maybe, and editing the game events pages so that they are in it instead of the ("real") events category.
If two or more of you active Freecivers agree on a change like that, I'm willing to do the necessary editing. Robin Patterson 12:35, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- I moved the contents of this category/article to Event scripting and created a new category at Category:Event scripting. Feel free to do what has to be done with Category:Events. --Hima 03:37, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
