Since there is v2.2 which "splits" ocean tiles in two different types, this solution becomes more favorable.

It would be good to add "Advanced Bridge Building" tech, which would allow building roads/railroads on shallow ocean tiles.

Instead of transforming ocean to swamp, making it unpassable for boats, there would be 1 bridge which would allow land units go "over" and ships "under" it.

Bridge length should be limited on 3-5 tiles.

In savegame - in part "spe00_xxx" could remain ID for bridge same as for road/rail (1/5), drawing would depend on if it's on land or on water.

For (total)length check it could use "sourcexxx" part, where it would overwrite owner&source if it's connecting to shore city.

Need to mention that bridge would be international, even if it would be in someone's "lake" (therefore source-part).

Also there wouldn't be more problems with "Select cities on same island" (which i had when i connected all islands->selected all cities)
