Hi,
I have some a small contribution for the Building improvements. I think it will be nice feature of workers or settlers to create the wall for border protection similar like Hadrian's wall or China wall. This wall will give additional movement points for units similar as road and increase defence strength similar as city wall for units which are located on the wall. Units can also be ordered to pillage, which damages the wall.
Freeciv is really good game :-)
