Hey guys.

I just found this from and thought it would be a great game.

Everything was going smoothly when I downloaded Civ, but as soon as I click on it a message looking like this comes up. (picture up the top)

Once I click "Open" the application will automatically force quit.

Has anyone experienced this before? --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Hannahohdear (talkcontribs) 06:15, July 14, 2010

Thanks for your feedback, but I tried both and while the pop up message is now gone, it still opens, bounces for a little moment and then force quits.

I am not using Mac OS X. Years ago, when I was a Mac user, I would always install applications by copying them from the disk image to my Applications folder. This copies the app off the disk image, so I can open the app without opening the disk image. To install it, you drag the "Freeciv" program to your Applications folder (or your Documents folder, or another good place). This might fix your problem? --Kernigh 20:10, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Since you are running Snow Leopard, try downloading the latest 2.2.2 package from here. Then, try look for the .dmg file on your computer. Look for it either on your desktop or the Downloads folder. Double-click on it in the Finder. -- Saltybanana 16:24, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Hi...I am having this problem also...I have the most recent 2.2.2 GTK package and followed the install instructions...when I double click on the application it opens, bounces for a minute, then quits. Please help. Sorry I'm new at this wiki thing. -- unsigned 22:26, August 12, 2010 (EST)
