Hello, I am far into my first Freeciv game and it has been fabulous. Recently, many of my cities went to disorder on a mass scale for an unknown reason. The cause is not global warming as I have already experienced that, but it does feel similar (got out of GW by reducing pollution and building many engineers to modify the swamps that were everywhere). I am unable to figure out why this is happening. Any suggestions? Gov is a Monarchy as I'm at war, but changing to a republic did not help. Thanks in advance! 152.26.17.10 16:43, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

You need to increase luxury. Go to Tax Rates and increment luxury by 10% until you restore order in all or most of your cities. You might need luxury at 20% to 40% of your economy.

When I play Freeciv, the most common cause of mass disorder is the addition of cities to an empire. As I build or conquer cities, the number of cities passes some threshold, so every city has one more unhappy citizen. In the Happiness tab of each city window: "Cities: 9 total, 0 over threshold of 13 cities. 4 content before penalty. 0 additional unhappy citizens." Another possible cause of mass disorder is if you lose a city with important wonders (like Michelangelo's Chapel, JS Bach's Cathedral or Cure for Cancer). --Kernigh 22:36, January 6, 2010 (UTC)
