Old topic in the other forum: Fusion Power in Freeciv?. Fusion Power has no benefit in the game, but you might trade Fusion Power to AI players (who might be too dumb to know the nonutility of Fusion Power).

I found a good use for Fusion Power in one game. My Qing Empire learned most technologies, but wanted to stop research, because all of the next technologies (except Fusion Power) would obsolete one of my wonders. (My only opponent lacked enough technology to obsolete my wonders.) I set Science to 0%, but CMA put scientists in a few cities. So I dumped bulbs into Fusion Power. After so many turns, the Fusion Power meter seemed too full, so I emptied my trash can with the penalty for switching technology. Then I continued to use Fusion Power as the trash can for science output.

I eventually tweaked the CMA to make taxmen instead of scientists; this tweak finally stopped my research, and the Fusion Power trash can became unnecessary. --Kernigh 03:32, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
