An interesting option to have for board geometry for hexagonal tilesets would be an icosahedral projection. The map would consist of 20 equilateral triangles of hexes. This would represent a sphere better than a straight east-west wraparound. 18.104.22.168 16:46, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have worked on elaborating this idea on the Sphere page. If you are combining hexagon tiling with an icosahedron, you will create pentagons also. This will create a buckyball. However, another option is to tile the icosahedron with diamonds. This will let every tile be the same shape and us existing tilesets.
