Irrigation is a terrain modification performed by a settler, worker, or engineer. Irrigated terrain usually produces more food for a city than before it was irrigated.
Mechanics[]
- The irrigation order can only be given to a settler, worker, or engineer.
- The terrain to be irrigated must have one of its four sides adjacent to a water source - sea, lake, river, or another irrigated square; a city does not count unless it contains a river.
- A worked irrigated square generates one more unit of food per turn.
- A square cannot contain both irrigation and mine; building both will replace the first.
