14 Mar 2015 – Depois de 18 meses, Freeciv 2.5.0 é lançado. A página NEWS-2.5.0 descreve o que mudou desde a versão 2.4.x. (A versão estável anterior -- 2.4.4 -- ainda está disponível na página de Download.)
7 Mar 2015 – A segunda versão candidata (RC) do Freeciv 2.5.0 saiu, consertando, principalmente, bugs dos clientes Qt. Por favor, experimente; esta será a versão final 2.5.0, a menos que algum bug estraga-prazer apareça.
31 Mar 2012 – Freeciv 2.3.2 é uma nova versão de correção de bugs da série 2.3.
19 Nov 2011 – Freeciv 2.3.1 é uma nova versão de correção de bugs da série 2.3.
8 Ago 2011 – Depois de quase dois anos de desenvolvimento, a versão 2.3 do Freeciv é lançada. NEWS-2.3.0 descreve o que mudou em comparação com a série 2.2 (da qual a última versão estável - a 2.2.7 - está disponível para download na página de downloads).
