Unit pages[]

I see you are redesigning the unit pages. Just so you know, there's a template adapted from the German wiki that hasn't been used much here yet, only on for example Caravel. Could you take a look at it? --Hima 13:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

It's a good template, but it doesn't "flow" with text well, when it does it can be used. Do you know if there is a update script available to port change in rulesets to the wiki? BTW Dealing with HTML layout is not fun in Wikis ;-) Emj
None that I know of! The pros of using the template is that you don't have to worry about the layout: just fill in the data and you're set! --Hima 02:01, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes templates are fun and usefull, but they still nmeed to be designed better, IMHO.. This template is alot better than the one I did, but my goal was a better looking design, perhaps I'll work on that. I want more text in the English and Swedish versions, because of that I want text to flow around those infoboxes in a nice way.. Emj 11:53, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I just noticed the template today, but I'm almost done with my unit pages. I just wrote a script that reads the English page, does a search and replace of several typical sentences (upkeep, may be disbanded ..., and so on), and creates the Catalan page with interwiki links to German (I'm learning German, so I practice) and English (Danish is usually there already). It also updates the English page with German and Catalan links. Anyway, I'm starting to get the hang of wiki scripts. What was your idea for a script? Perhaps the template should take care of just basic parameters (attack, defense, move, ...) and leave the other sentences alone, since there is usually a variable number of them, and it's less natural to integrate them with the template. The idea was to make a script that dumps info from Freeciv and publish it to the wiki.. Emj 23:43, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Something that reads units.ruleset and generates unit pages? I'll look into it.--Jcreus 20:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
